Music Lessons
About our studio
Performance Pianos Music Studio is a private educational establishment, independent of the public school system. Musical instruction is provided for piano, voice, guitar, strings, and woodwinds in both private and group settings.
Currently, our staff consists of 6 music instructors in order to better assist beginner through advanced music students. All of our teachers have many years of professional experience in both teaching and performing music in public venues.
In addition to being a music studio, Performance Pianos is also a successful retail establishment, providing students, amateur, and professional pianists alike with the very best, top quality acoustic and digital pianos available. Here at the music studio, new students are entitled to an initial trial lesson where an opportunity is presented for the student to meet their teacher. If it is mutually agreed that this is a good student-teacher match, the teacher along with a curriculum specialist will create an individualized lesson program to best meet the needs of their new student.
In addition to learning how to sing or play an instrument, music lessons will integrate concepts such as music theory, music history, and in special cases improvisation or composition as well.
Studio Goals
The most important goals of a good educational program are to stimulate minds and to inspire creative thinking, in addition to providing a solid knowledge base. Here at Performance Pianos Music Studio, we believe that everyone deserves to experience music in a positive, equal opportunity, and fun learning environment.
Lessons for kids
When singing, playing, or listening to music, children’s minds are stimulated and encouraged to think creatively. All children are born with some sort of musical talent, meaning they all are capable of success in music. When a child sees that he or she is capable of success in one area, he or she is then encouraged to learn and experiment in other areas as well. By singing or playing a musical instrument, a child can feel special, which nurtures healthy feelings of self-worth.
All our teaching staff believes that learning should be a fun experience, so stickers and prizes are awarded to students as positive reinforcement. These cool merits also serve as intrinsic motivation, encouraging students to look forward to their music lessons as well as inspiring them to practice at home.
Lessons for Teens and Adults
Music has never been more fun to learn than it is now. Our music instructors have a wonderful variety of styles available to choose from when putting together a musical study program. Students will be presented with styles such as classical, jazz, soul, rock, folk, country, and pop music to sample during lessons.
Music instructors tailor a student’s program to include what the student enjoys playing or singing most. All students are taught how to read music, as well as how to play or sing without it. Stylistic interpretation, technique, music theory, and ear training are integrated as a regular part of study in order to create a well-rounded musical education. Lessons in improvisation and composition are also included as students show interest.
